Red Sparowes play a pattern of intensified, experimental post-rock with a famous habit of pedal steel guitar. The Los Angeles act formed in 2003 and features flow and former members of other bands: guitarist Bryant Clifford Meyer (Isis), guitar player Josh Graham (visuals for Neurosis), bassist Greg Burns (Halifax Pier), bassist/guitarist Andy Arahood (Saint Hair), and drummer David Clifford (Pleasure Forever). After recording demos for their debut album, they toured with the Dillinger Escape Plan and Made Out of Babies. Following the departure of original bassist/guitarist Jeff Caxide (Isis) and drummer Dana Berkowitz in late 2004, At the Soundless Dawn was issued in February 2005 through Neurot, home to Neurosis. Red Sparowes toured Europe in spring 2005 and the U.S. afterwards that year with Pelican, Big Business, and Breather Resist. The following record album, Every Red Heart Shines Toward the Red Sun, was released in September 2006.

Amy Winehouse's Shocking Paparazzi Attack!

Amy Winehouse took out her rage on a group of photographers outside her home yesterday, after being refused jail visitation entry and missing the chance to see her husband Blake Fielder-Civil in the slammer.

The singer, who braved London’s cold weather in a floral mini-dress, went to Pentonville prison to spend some time with her spouse, but was told she couldn’t see him.

A sour Amy made the lonely journey back to her Camden flat in a black cab, wiping away her tears as she made a stop at a kebab shop for some dinner.

However, upon returning home, the rage had returned and a venomous Wino shoved paparazzi out of her way as she made her way inside, angry about her jail visit refusal.

See the shocking events unfold here.
Do you think Amy has gone a step too far? Be sure to leave your comments below.

Universal Music Latin Ent. restructures

Former Univision Music Group employees laid off

Universal Music Latin Entertainment let go more than 20 former Univision Music Group employees Thursday, as it announced key label and sales appointments for the combined company.
Alfonso Larriva, former vp and GM of Fonovisa and Univision Records, was the highest-ranking employee to be let go. The layoffs mostly claimed assistants, label coordinators, sales reps, managers and directors, according to a company source. Among the affected departments were marketing, publicity and publishing, where Univision Music Publishing vp administration Nestor Rodriguez was let go.
A company source says no further layoffs are expected at UMLE, the new company created by Universal Music Group's acquisition of Univision Music Group earlier this year. The job cuts were the first in the wake of the departure of Univision Music Group president/CEO Jose Behar and a handful of close staff members, including executive vp/CFO Dave Palacio.
In a statement, Universal Music Group said, "Our goal is to create a Latin music company that is not only the biggest, but the best. And that requires eliminating redundancies, and directing our resources to more effectively and efficiently meet the new challenges and opportunities emerging in the marketplace."
With the combined label and publishing properties of the former Univision Music Group and Universal's Latin operations, Universal Music Latin Entertainment controls nearly 50% of the Latin music market. Labels under the consolidated music group include Universal Music Latino, Machete, Fonovisa, Disa, and Universal Music Mexico & Central America.
Key appointments announced today include: Skander Goucha to vp digital and mobile at UMLE; Luis Estrada to GM, Universal Music Latino; Mickey Hernandez to GM of Machete; and Carlos Ruiz to GM, Disa U.S. and Mexico. Gustavo Lopez, president of Disa and Fonovisa, will serve on an interim basis as Fonovisa GM.
At Universal Music Group Distribution, Gregg Vickers was appointed senior vp Latin sales and marketing, reporting to UMGD president/CEO Jim Urie. Nydia Laner was named vp sales for Fonovisa and Disa, and Eddy Laca was appointed vp sales for Universal Music Latino and Machete.
UMLE's senior executive team, announced last month, is helmed by Jesus Lopez, Universal's chairman/CEO for Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. Walter Kolm is president of Universal Music Latino and Machete; Gustavo Lopez is president of Fonovisa and Disa; and John Echevarria is executive vp operations for Universal Music Latin America.
Victor Gonzalez remained as president of Universal Music Mexico and Central America and Eddie Fernandez stayed on as senior vp, Universal Music Publishing Group, Latin America. Joe Rakauskas was appointed senior vp finance and CFO of UMLE while Mark Berger was appointed vp business affairs.

Chris Martin - Martin Injures Knee Days Before Comeback Tour

CHRIS MARTIN has thrown COLDPLAY's comeback concert into jeopardy after twisting his knee during tour rehearsals.

The frontman was left hobbling in pain after injuring his leg in practice sessions for the band's eagerly anticipated first performance in London on Monday (16Jun08).

And it is feared the injury will further postpone the group's forthcoming world tour, which has already been pushed back due to unspecified "production delays".

A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Chris has been in absolute agony with his knee.

"He's had to strap it and has been hobbling around the place. He doesn't want to cancel the show so is going to fight through the pain barrier."

Earlier this month (Jun08), it was announced the rockers' North American trek would be delayed by two weeks. The tour was scheduled to kick off on 29 June (08), but will now start in Los Angeles on 14 July (08).

Kanye is booed at his own gig

HE may be the coolest rapper on the block, but that didn't stop KANYE WEST
getting booed at his own gig.

The American hip-hopper took to the stage for his Bonnaroo Music & Arts
Festival slot amid jeers fom tired fans - after leaving them waiting for
almost two hours.

The Gold Digger star switched his 8.15pm start time on Saturday to 2.45am on
Sunday, becoming the first major act to start a mainstream festival show so
late.

But his fans grew impatient after waiting until 4.30am local time in Tennessee
before their hero showed up.

The crowd had also been forced to sit through a late night torrential downpour
to see Kanye's early morning set.

They had booed for almost an hour before his arrival and they weren't about to
stop when he appeared.

One fan said: "He had to work really hard to win everyone over."

Sienna Miller - Miller Hates Nude Scenes

Actress SIENNA MILLER hates stripping off on-screen - because she can't stand the idea of her father seeing her naked.

The blonde beauty worries so much about her beloved dad seeing her in steamy scenes, she warns him to cover his eyes when she appears undressed.

She says, "I get embarrassed, especially if my dad watches them. I get embarrassed watching them myself. But sometimes you just have to do it."

But the British star insists on performing realistic sex scenes - by refusing to wear a bra in bed.

Miller explains, "It has to be realistic and I think it is probably very rare that people have sex with their bra on so if you are going to do it, just do it. That's my motto."
